ALL PRODUCTIONS ARE PAY-WHAT-YOU-WANT – Upstart Productions is an artistically ambitious company working to make Dallas a major cultural center through the discovery & cultivation of emerging artists. We aim to serve local artists, the Dallas community, and the greater DFW area, and one way we endeavor to do this is by offering our productions FREE OF CHARGE in a PAY WHAT YOU WANT model.

UPSTART PRODUCTIONS has been a platform to connect artists and the DFW community since 2008 and is a 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit organization.

ALL FUNDS go directly into the productions (space, wrights, costumes, etc.) and the artists who create them. When you support Upstart Productions with your donation, you’re not just supporting the artists that produce the works, you’re supporting your neighbors’ ability to experience it.

    What We Need, What You Get, The Impact:

    We’ve set a $5,000 goal to supplement our first production. These funds will be used to help provide modest stipends for the artists, set, props, costumes and everything the production requires.

We’re also humbled to have received several awards and honors, including seven DFW Theater Critics Forum Awards and three COLUMN Awards from its peers in the local theater community. Our greatest source of pride, however, are the careers we have helped kick-start over the years. Numerous local actors, designers, and technicians count an Upstart production as one of their first professional engagements.

Upstart has also produced two world premieres by local playwrights, hosted “Upstart Cinema,” a series of screenings that showcased rising Dallas-area filmmakers and created networking opportunities for film and theater artists, hosted a multi-medium arts festival dubbed “Go West Fest” which featured local musicians, performance artists, and visual artists, produced 10 full productions for thousands of theater goers and continues to be celebrated for its ambitious programming, visceral performances, and hyper-realistic productions.
